Pánggas
PÁNGGAS, [Hiligaynon] meaning to sow, is not only an agricultural practice, but also an act of creating, and nurturing something -in hopes that someday, it will become fruitful. The creation of the Glissotar is one of these sown cultural treasures: developed, and nurtured, that it might continue to live on, and adapt with the surge of Contemporary Music.
This short piece is composed of short aphorisms -exploring new abilities of the Glissotar -all the while envisioning a glimpse of the myriad possibilities that will be created by this wonderful new instrument.
Pánggas was premiered last 31 May 2021 at Hold Street Reformed Church, Budapest, Hungary, performed on Glissotar by Dániel Váczi at the Érintés [Reach] Concert as hosted by the Sonus Foundation. Supported by Hungarian Cultural Fund, Hungarikum Committee, Ministry of Agriculture, District V Local Government.
